Our steering committee is elected by the general membership as positions become available.  The bylaws determine the terms of each position on the steering committee. 

Brenda Vázquez, Founding Chair  

New England Wellness Foundation

Ms. Vazquez is Founder and Chair of New England Wellness Foundation, a charitable non profit consulting organization based in Hyannis. She serves on the Barnstable County Human Services Board and has been Chair of CHNA 27 for the past 4 years. Since December 18, 2017, Brenda is the Director of the Town of Dennis Council on Aging and Senior Center. She is a lifespan gerontologist with a vision for healthy, livable, interactive communities that she believes are possible through cross platform collaboration between private citizens, families,  local government, schools and community based health and human service organizations.

I believe in in the spirit of public service. Now that we spent the last two years learning about the significance of social determinants and discussing solutions to address them as part of customizing patient treatment plans and make them medical necessities, to improve health and wellbeing across all generations.  We have our work cut out for us still ahead, but thinking together and working together is the way we can accomplish much for the benefit of many.
